Classic Cobra Control Cable Kit

This kit is to be used to replace the classic rudder control cables common on older Cobra brand kayaks of the 1990s and to some extent those kayaks made in the 21st century. Applicable to Cobra Tourer, Eliminator and Expedition kayaks. Might be used for some custom rudder systems on other brands of kayak.

Kit Contents: B = 8 feet Bungee Cord, 1/4 in., A = 4 Bungee Cord Hooks, F = 20 feet Utility Cord, 1/8 in., C = 6 feet 3/4 In. Webbing Strap, D = 2 3/4 inch Super Locks and E = 2 3/4 in.Tri Glides. Probably more than enough, but gives options for multiple configuration patterns discussed in the On-line Instructions.

Please Note: The cordage passes through unique Cobra Cable Guides that may be too tight for Utility Cord, 1/8 in.. If necessary Spectra Cord, or Steel Cable can be used. Guides can be replaced with Strap Eyes, and you may need a couple of these in your retrofit or new rudder install. Stainless steel screws and nuts (re-use from your kayak, or get new at a hardware store) may also be needed.

FYI: The Original Cable Kit was marked with numbers that corresponded with the Original Rudder Kit instructions. This kit replaces that sytem in a different way and those instructions are no longer applicable. The tiny metal tie-in rings that were found on some cables are no longer available and are not needed with this new configuration.
